Spinning Chandelier Will Be Installed Under Granville Bridge

New, 1 comment

Coming soon to the under belly of the Granville Street Bridge, beside the recently approved Bjarke Ingels twisting tower, an 18th century inspired spinning chandelier which has been approved by the Public Art Committee of the City of Vancouver. Rodney Graham is the Abbotsford-born artist who designed the spinning chandelier which features giant faux-crystal candelabra from the 18th century. The chandelier will rotate as it ascends and once released it will rapidly spin throughout different times of the day. The public can check out the concept drawings at Westbank's upcoming Gesamtkunstwerk exhibition which opens to the public on March 22.
