After getting approval by city council for the conceptual master plan of the Brentwood Mall redevelopment, renderings have been released by Shape Properties which showcase major construction plans. How major? The developer wants to add at least ten towers which could reach heights of 70-storeys tall. The project is going to be spread out over twenty years (!!!) and will be the future home of 350 retail stores, two office towers ranging in height and a 50,000 square foot grocery store. So that leaves eight towers dedicated to residential which could house up to 8,400 people. Do that many people actually want to live in Burnaby?
