A local architect has decided to give the laneway housing trend a refresher by transforming the current lackluster design into a glass house, literally. Renderings show the façade completely made of glass brick, which appears opaque but still allows natural light in and is insulated for comfort. These particular designs will range in size from 470 – 650 square feet. Laneway homes appear to be on the rise in Vancouver, last year alone over 300 building permits were issued by the city.
