Sole Food Street Farms has converted an old vacant parking lot in the Downtown East Side into an expanding resource for local produce across Vancouver.Sole Foods Street Farms has four urban garden sites across Vancouver which employs DTES residents who are living on the street. Co-Found Michael Albelman describes the project saying "We've essentially built a farming enterprise supplying Vancouver's top restaurants, with folks who have not only never farmed before, but who are all dealing with various challenges."
