Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various Vancouver neighborhoods. Today's price: $2,000
↑ The search begins in Point Grey where this 'like new' 1BR/1BA apartment at the Iron & Whyte building rents for $2,000/month. The suite comes unfurnished but has a ton of high end features like the gourmet kitchen and oak hardwood flooring.
↑ Over in Yaletown, $2,000 gets you this teeny tiny 1BR/1BA suite. The place comes furnished and has some nice city views from the 17th floor corner unit patio.
↑ In Gastown, $2,000 rents this unique loft in the Koret Lofts building. The suite comes unfurnished and has exposed brick and beams through out the unit. The elevated sleeping area is quite unusual and can only be accessed by ladder. Sleepwalkers, you are warned. A cool feature of this building is it is zoned live/work so renters get a few tax breaks.
↑ A $2,000 rental in the West End? We were shocked, too. The building is brand new though and has some pretty great floor to ceiling windows showing off those West End views. The 1BR/1BA suite has a ton of high end features that aren't typical of the area. Stainless steel appliances, gas stove, quartz countertops, and oh my god there is in-suite laundry. This place is definitely an anomaly.
