East Vancouver's Lord Strathcona Elementary School is finally getting some seismic upgrades, a decade after it was selected for earthquake proofing. There are a total of five buildings on the school campus and three of them will be upgraded at a total cost of $25.6 million. Lord Strathcona is one of the oldest elementary schools in BC and has been around for 122 years. [Georgia Straight]
