Back in June, Sears Canada announced that it was in talks with the City of Burnaby to develop a mixed-use project on nine acres of the company's property adjacent to their Metrotown location. Plans are slowly inching forward as it has recently been announced that Concord Pacific will be taking over as developer. As if Concord isn't busy enough these days, plans for the project include a new retail store for Sears in addition to a whopping seven residential and office high-rises with ground floor retail. Rumoured cost for the mega-project is upwards of $1 billion.
